Il Nido is an apartment for two in an ancient Tuscan farmhouse: Campalfi. Set back from the river Merse by about 200 metres, Campalfi is a group of ancient farm buildings that once had all the necessities for the self-contained life of a small community. It has been converted to provide seven spacious dwellings. There is a central open-sided courtyard entered through an archway, around which are arranged the apartments, and to one side of this is a large dining-room where wonderful meals are often served.
Il Nido is a spacious apartment for two on the ground floor of the main farmhouse. The conversions are a harmonious blend of ancient tradition and modern comforts. All the apartments have a quiet, cool and restrained atmosphere with simple, traditional Tuscan furniture. The hand of the artist owner is seen in the soft colors that grace the apartment walls and in the blossoms that drape arch and pergola alike.

Campalfi is located in a historic region west of Siena, nestled in a valley by the Merse River, known for its wild-swimming spots.
Life here is slow-paced. Instead of a bright-blue swimmingpool, you’ll find natural river pools nearby - some shallow, others deep, all surrounded by woods and wildflowers. Wild swimming is the way to go here, and it's a delight.
The green, peaceful valley is ideal for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. The nearby villages of Brenna, Stigliano and Orgia all have restaurants, and the first two are reachable on foot.
You can explore castles like Castiglion che Dio sol sa ("The castle that only God knows"), or the beautiful cloister of Torri nearby. Siena is a 20-minute drive, with San Gimignano, Val d’Orcia, and Chianti all within an hour.

The calendar will grey out dates for stay lengths that aren't accepted—most villas book Saturday to Saturday, but many also allow shorter stays or flexible dates.
