Stalla occupies the ground floor of the main farmhouse on an estate that once supplied the Abbey of St. Mary at Badia Agnano - a Benedictine monastery that controlled vast holdings across the Valdambra valley from the 11th century until 1652. The name gives it away: stalla means stable, and this is where the farm's livestock would have been housed. Now it's a comfortable apartment for families, with a large kitchen and dining table seating 8.
When the entire Valdambra estate is booked together (all three apartments: Stalla, Arcata, and Pagliaio), Stalla becomes the communal dining space for the whole group. The kitchen is large enough to actually work for cooking together, and the table seats 8 comfortably - meaning groups of 12-16 can eat together without feeling cramped, with people rotating through in shifts or spreading across the outdoor patios. This setup works exceptionally well for multi-family gatherings, reunions, or groups who want to cook and eat together while maintaining separate sleeping quarters.

The estate has exclusive use of the 7x15 meter salt-water pool when booked as a whole, or shares it among the three apartments when booked individually. Hammocks are strung between olive and walnut trees, each apartment has its own private outdoor dining area, and the Valdambra valley between Arezzo and Siena is excellent for cycling and walking.

This works well for families: muddy children can go straight to the shower via the kitchen entrance while adults relax in the sitting room, or vice versa.
