This large Tuscan villa with a private pool and air-conditioning, set on a vineyard and wine estate, is ideal for family reunions.
When the owner of Dimora set out to modernize this house on an organic 300-hectare farm in the woodlands and olive groves of the Chianti, he decided to respect the nature surrounding his doorstep, and by collecting both sun and rain now manages to conserve energy with no sacrifice to comfort.
In this sprawling ground-level house, whose every room opens onto the outside, you will never doubt that you are in the heart of Tuscany. Terracotta bricks and chestnut ceiling beams mix well with stylish colors and attractive fabrics of modern Italy and from every window there is the classic panorama of an ancient countryside.

Dimora is listed under the following categories:
Just past the tiled threshing floor, whose low wall now outlines a spacious covered furnished patio, the corner entry leads you to most of the rooms of the house.
To the left is a hallway leading to a bathroom, a shower room and two front bedrooms, a twin and a double, whose arched French doors lead out to the patio.
To the right of the entryway is the large sitting room, whose comfortable sofas, fireplace, filled bookshelves, and TV and CD/Stereo make it a natural place to gather. The sitting room opens to beautiful views off the furnished back terrace and quite handily to the excellently equipped kitchen, with a dining table for 12.
A short hallway off the sitting room leads to a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with extra shower and a twin bedroom, with ensuite shower room.
Both of these rooms have doors to the side garden and the swimming pool beyond. Two other bedrooms, each with ensuite shower or bath/shower rooms, have independent access from the front of the house, and in the case of the master double suite, also from a back loggia. Quite cleverly tucked below the horizon and to the back of the house is a large laundry room.
The last section is a gravel track through the olive groves, generally in good condition but not suited for a low car. You don't need an SUV, it's what's known in Tuscany as a 'strada bianca', a white road. The gravel section is around 400m.
The restaurant is the "Osteria Antica Quercia" in Sant'Appiano and it's 1.3km away - under a mile. Many of our guests walk to it, many have mentioned the walk back through the olive groves with fireflies blinking.
The design of the house and its gardens ensure that one can easily find a quiet space, be it on one of the furnished terraces, under the natural shade looking onto the swimming pool or in the Jacuzzi itself, or near the barbecue when outdoor dining is the plan for the evening.
There is a restaurant within walking distance, and the local village of Barberino Val d'Elsa is just a short drive away.Â
Visiting the medieval and renaissance towns that make this region famous is easy from Dimora, with San Gimignano 20 minutes away, Siena around 30 minutes, Florence 45 minutes, Pienza and the Val d'Orcia an hour and 30 minutes, and of course the house is set in the midst of the wine region of Chianti
