A renovated farmhouse dating back to the 17th century, Villa Orologio is situated on 150 acres of land enclosed with olive trees, woods and fields. Spanning across 480 square meters of living space, the villa's interior features terracotta floors, white-beamed ceilings, and generously sized rooms.
Outside, guests will find a swimming pool complete with a pergola, as well as a spacious dining area in a courtyard equipped with a table for 12 people and a barbecue, and an al fresco shaded garden featuring a chapel. Surrounding the house, the 3000 square meters of garden are adorned with roses, lavender, oleander and rosemary.
Orologio is listed under the following categories:
The villa's ground floor features a hallway entrance with stairs leading to the first floor. On this level, guests will find a spacious living room with a working fireplace and doors that open onto the garden, a dining room boasting a Venetian chandelier and a table for up to 12 guests, and a fully equipped kitchen with a dining table for eight. The kitchen also grants access to a courtyard furnished with a large table for outdoor dining and a barbecue. Additionally, there is a twin double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and shower, accessible from both the bedroom and the garden via French doors located within the bathroom. Other amenities on this floor include a laundry room, a powder room, and a guest bathroom.
The first floor of the villa hosts a sitting room with a picturesque view of the pool and garden. Additionally, there is a double bedroom offering views of the pool, complete with an ensuite bathroom featuring a shower stall and a cast-iron tub with a hand-held shower. Another double bedroom overlooks the courtyard where al fresco dining takes place, with the sound of the fountain nearby. Furthermore, three additional double bedrooms boast views of the garden. Two shared bathrooms on this floor are equipped with enclosed shower stalls, tubs with hand-held showers and double sinks.
The villa’s strategic location makes it the perfect starting point for exploring both the Tuscan countryside and the seaside towns of the Versilia coastal area, or for day trips throughout the region's main cultural cities.
Just a 20-minute drive away lies Lucca, renowned as an Italian "City of Art" for its well-preserved Renaissance-era city walls and historic center. Visitors can explore the city's public squares, including the iconic Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, which stands on the site of an ancient Roman amphitheatre.
Pietrasanta, an artistic centre in the Versilia, is a 35 minute drive from the villa. This vibrant city has long been a magnet for artists, drawn by its connections to Carrara marble. Notable attractions include the Museo dei Bozzetti and the Church of the Misericordi, where Fernando Botero's panels, The Gates of Paradise and the Gates of the Inferno, adorn the walls. Additionally, visitors can admire Botero's Roman Warrior sculpture in Piazza Matteotti.
Forte dei Marmi, one of the most prestigious seaside resorts in the Italian Riviera, is a 40-minute drive from the villa. Renowned for its pristine beaches and vibrant nightlife, Forte dei Marmi also captivates visitors with its elegant architecture and picturesque streets, particularly within the Roma Imperiale garden district.
For further exploration, Pisa is just a 30-minute drive away, while Florence can be reached in one hour. The villages of the Cinque Terre are also within easy reach, with a drive of just one hour and a half from the villa.
