Il Granaio is an apartment for four in an ancient Tuscan farmhouse: Campalfi. A short walk from the river Merse, Campalfi is a Tuscan farm, once with all the necessities for the self-contained life of a small community. It has been converted to provide spacious dwellings. There is a central open-sided courtyard entered through an archway, around which are arranged the apartments, and to one side of this is a large dining-room where wonderful meals are often served.
On the ground floor, with access from the courtyard next to the old wood-fired pizza oven, this apartment is on two floors and sleeps four.

The ground floor entrance opens into a living room, with a simple kitchen area on the left. Stairs lead up to a twin bedroom with two single beds, as well as a shower room and a double bedroom.
Like all the Campalfi apartments, it has a light, airy atmosphere and simple furniture. These are not luxurious apartments but are an ideal base to reconnect with nature, to spend most of your day outdoors swimming in the river, exploring the fields and the local woods, and wandering over to historic castles and convents.

Campalfi is located in a historic region west of Siena, nestled in a valley by the Merse River, known for its wild-swimming spots.
Life here is slow-paced. Instead of a bright-blue swimmingpool, you’ll find natural river pools nearby - some shallow, others deep, all surrounded by woods and wildflowers. Wild swimming is the way to go here, and it's a delight.
The green, peaceful valley is ideal for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. The nearby villages of Brenna, Stigliano and Orgia all have restaurants, and the first two are reachable on foot.
You can explore castles like Castiglion che Dio sol sa ("The castle that only God knows"), or the beautiful cloister of Torri nearby. Siena is a 20-minute drive, with San Gimignano, Val d’Orcia, and Chianti all within an hour.
