Constructed in the 18th century in the town of Fabbrica by one of the noble families associated with the grand Duchy of Tuscany, Villa Glicine has undergone a meticulous restoration process that has preserved its original architectural characteristics and retained the elegant Liberty style of that era.
Tastefully furnished with antique period furniture and ornaments, the villa's elegance is further accentuated by precious decorations, paintings, and the presence of original vaulted ceilings. A spacious lodge features a dining table and chairs, offering an idyllic setting for "al fresco" dining, while divans beneath a pergola adorned with centuries-old wisteria provide a charming outdoor dining experience. A stone staircase leads to a private garden with a panoramic swimming pool with hydromassage, which allows guests to take in sweeping views of the surrounding vineyards and olive groves, extending all the way to the city of Volterra.
Glicine is listed under the following categories:
The villa, spanning 350 square meters, is spread across two floors. On the ground floor, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen with a small pantry, a dining room adorned with an elegant wood fireplace made of lava stone, complete with sofas and armchairs, and a satellite TV. Another spacious salon boasts frescoed ceilings, inviting divans and armchairs. There's also a dining room featuring a sizable crystal dining table and original bookcases. On this level there is an additional double bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom.

Two bathrooms are available on this floor, one of which offers a comfortable bathtub.
Returning to the ground floor, adjacent to the kitchen and living areas, you'll pass through two arched doorways that open to the garden, featuring a stone floor and originally serving as the cloister. Volterra is a short drive away, nestled amidst olive groves and vineyards, and boasts one of Italy’s best-preserved Roman theatres. Constructed during the Augustan period at the end of the first century BC by the affluent Caecina family, this theatre was discovered during archaeological excavations in the 1950s under the supervision of Enrico Fiumi.
