A Luxurious Base Where San Gimignano's Towers Are Just a Morning Stroll Away
Picture this: you're sitting in a hot tub with a glass of Vernaccia, watching sunrise light sweep across the Chianti hills to the east, vineyards and olive groves stretching toward distant hilltop towns. San Gimignano's famous medieval towers? They're 3km up the road, an easy walk when you're ready to join the tourists. But right now, from your private cottage, you're looking the other way, toward views that feel like they go on forever.
Casa Andrea represents years of careful restoration by owners who wanted to create something special. This isn't a converted farm building with rough charm; it's a genuinely luxurious cottage for four, equipped for modern life while respecting its Tuscan setting. Underfloor heating keeps winter visits comfortable, air conditioning handles summer heat, and the super-fast wifi combined with an EV charger makes this ideal for remote working with serious style. The large covered pergola becomes your outdoor office, if that's what you're after.
The single-level layout flows beautifully: a well-equipped kitchen and spacious living area with L-shaped sofa lead to a central corridor serving two bedrooms (both with French doors to the garden), a large shower room, and laundry facilities. The master bedroom has its own ensuite and opens directly to the hot tub platform, perfectly positioned for those Tuscan sunrise soaks.
The fenced and gated property includes shaded parking with solar panels and EV charging, while beyond your garden fence olive groves slope downhill toward vineyards dotted with trees. It's worth knowing that while San Gimignano is wonderfully close (you can walk there for dinner), the cottage views face east rather than toward the town itself. For that iconic skyline view, take the short walk up to the road.
Whether you're here for a romantic escape, out-of-season remote working in luxury, or a summer base for exploring Siena, Volterra, and the surrounding landscapes, Casa Andrea offers something increasingly rare: genuine comfort and style in a peaceful setting, with one of Tuscany's most famous towns practically on your doorstep.
Casa Andrea is listed under the following categories:
The house is all on one level, with a large pergola covering an outdoor furnished area that faces the views. On entering the house you'll find a well-equipped kitchen to the right, and a living area on the left with a large L-shaped sofa. A central door leads to a corridor with a laundry and large shower-room on the left, and a double bedroom on the right with french doors that can open out to the gardens. At the end of the corridor is the master bedroom with an en-suite shower room on the left, and french doors leading out to the Jacuzzi and to the garden.
The grounds of the cottage are fenced and gated, with the hot-tub on a platform facing the wonderful Tuscan views. A gete from the road leads to a driveway that winds down to a shaded car port equipped with an EV charging port and solar panels on the roof. Beyond the fenced garden groves of Olive trees extend downhill before turning to vineyards dotted with trees.
Casa Andrea is set just to the eastern side of a ridge that leads up to San Gimignano, just 2 kms away. The house is perfectly placed for visiting Tuscany, with San Gimignano very close and Siena, the Chianti hills and vineyards, Pisa, Lucca and the Val d'Orcia all within easy reach.
The roads around Casa Andrea are beautiful and a pleasure to drive or cycle along; head north-west towards Pisa and you'll find roads that wind over and along the hills, with amazing views on both sides. Going east will quickly take you into Chianti, with bendy roads going through forests of evergreen oaks interspersed with vineyards and olive groves, while heading south will lead down the roads that formed the medieval pilgrimage route known as the "Francigena", the route taken by medieval pilgrims from Northern europe as they travelled towards Rome and then Jerusalem.
