Chianti is classic Tuscany, the original vision of hills clad with vineyards and woods, dotted with hilltop towns and castles. Borgo Castello is in the heart of this famous wine-producing area, surrounded by vineyards and dark forests of evergreen oak. It's close to the famous centres of the area, like charming Radda in Chianti, and historic wineries, like the Castello di Ama.
A collection of 3 Tuscan villas with a private pool set in the heart of Chianti, Borgo Castello sleeps 20 guests overall and can only be rented as a single unit, so you'll never be sharing the pool or the houses. All the rooms are en-suite and the house is very well- equipped, with a private gym/ yoga lounge, a sauna, a cinema room and there's even an EV charging point up at the nearby castle. Should you need more space there is a property close by with 14 more beds: Podere Castello.
Carefully converted from original Tuscan farmhouses, this is an ideal base for a multi-generational family gathering or for 3 families that would like to holiday together. The famous art cities and areas of Tuscany are all within reach - Siena, Florence, Arezzo and more, yet when you return here you will feel cocconed in the privacy of a very special place.
Borgo Castello is listed under the following categories:
Borgo Castello sleeps 18 guests in 9 double ensuite bedrooms, with two more beds on a mezzanine, and is composed of 3 buildings: Bosco, Oliveta and Gatto.
Bosco is the villa with the main living spaces. On the south side a large covered pergola, furnished for communal outdoor dining, leads into a large and well-equipped kitchen which then opens out on the left (onto the west) into a spacious dining room. Heading ahead from the kitchen will take you into a smaller sitting room room then into the 'Cinema room', with a large screen and a great sound system. Beyond this room there is an enormous living room with a fireplace (non-functioning) and a staircase leading to the upper floor.
Upstairs there are 3 double-bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom.
To the east, or heading slightly uphill, Oliveta is a long thin building with, on the ground floor, a line of four double- bedrooms, each with direct access to the garden. Upstairs there is a small living room with a fireplace (non- functioning) , a kitchen, and a further double bedroom with ensuite bathroom.
The last building is to the south and has a double bedroom with a mezzanine floor with two single beds, making this ideal for a family with younger children. This is also the building that houses the gym/yoga space, a large room with fitness equipment like weights, a trampoline, mats and yoga balls. There is also a sauna area and an extra, smaller kitchen.
The swimming pool is 15x8 m with an infinity edge and is set slightly downhill from the three houses in a very private spot that commands great views of Chianti vineyards and hills.
Borgo Castello is in the very heart of Chianti, surrounded by vineyards, beautiful hill towns and excellent wineries. There are lots of excellent hikes through the area, many even going past wine-tasting farms and castles - this is an area with plenty to explore without going too far.
Should you wish to visit the famous cities of Tuscany, like Siena, Florence or Arezzo, they are all within an hour's drive, as are many of the other famous areas and wine cities, like the Valdorcia, or the Valdelsa.
