Villas in Tuscany & Beyond

dan-wrightson

Hi, my name is Dan Wrightson and I own "Invitation to Tuscany Ltd."

We have been finding beautiful villas to rent in Tuscany and beyond for over 40 years. We pride ourselves on handpicking and vetting all our villas with personal, regular visits and we have some of the best villas in Tuscany in our catalogue.

You'll see some paintings dotted around the website, these are my paintings of the area that I have been doing for over 40 years as I visit the houses and the towns. You can see more of them, some for sale, here: danwrightson.com

Why book with us?

Invitation To Tuscany is the original Tuscan villa specialist, we started out from a small Tuscan farmhouse in the 1970s. and our family company was started by my mother, Susan Wrightson, in 1982. We’ve lived and worked here for over five decades, so we know the region very well.

Hand-picked villas

As a small family company, we get to know every property, owner and customer individually. That means we look beyond the number of bedrooms and bathrooms to help find the ideal holiday home for you. And because we’re members of the Association of British Travel Organisers to Italy (ABTOI) you know you can trust that we’ll take care of any problems that might arise.

Sustainability

Self-catering villas are a green way to holiday and that ethos runs through our company. Our original farmhouse was run as a self-sufficient farm in Tuscany and we still carry the same values. You can read our sustainability principles here.

Personal Care

After you’ve booked, we don’t just send you on your way. From the moment you reserve your villa until you return home, you’ll have access to our concierge service. Our knowledgeable staff can help with anything from finding train times, arranging airport transfers and babysitters to suggesting local cafés, sunset spots and Italian cooking classes. You can read what our clients think in our reviews or in the independent UpFront reviews here.

Whether you’re travelling as a couple or having a family gathering of 65 people, give us a call. We’d love you to have a taste of the good life too.

“ FANTASTIC VILLA DEI FIORI ”

Villa dei Fiori not only lived up to our expectations from the photos on the website, it exceeded those expectations. The house itself was fantastic - very comfortable bedrooms, the bathrooms were high quality, the kitchen had everything we needed and the lounge area was very comfortable and relaxing. Outside, there were a couple of attractive eating areas, and several places to sit and relax. The pool and the surrounding area was terrific - with plenty of space to sit or lie in the sun, or to enjoy the shade under the pergola. We had a wonderful time, and are already planning a return visit!

“ Exceeded Expectations ”

The pictures do not do justice to the beautiful villa and surroundings. Everything is well maintained, and comfortable for all guests with en suite bathtooms. The owner is charming and easily accessible for questions or help. Walking distance to a small shop for fresh meats/cheeses/fruit etc and a small restaurant. 35 minutes drive to San Gimignano, 1 hour to Siena and take the train from Empoli station (40 minutes) for a stress free journey to florence. It was perfect.

“ Great Villa In the Hills! ”

We had an amazing week at Villa Fobbia.

The Villa is in the hills and you should expect a bit of narrow, steep windy roads to get there. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the Owners who showed us around their great home. The views are amazing. The villa was clean, in great condition, well stocked, secure, and had ample space for our crew of 8 (including two young teens). Note there is no air conditioning, and we had a heat wave during our week, so the days were a bit warm in the house.... nights were not an issue as the air cooled down at night, and the fans in every bedroom helped too.

The pool was a great amenity during the warm days. We scheduled two chef dinners and one cooking class during the week, and the kitchen with the adjacent al fresco dining area worked great. Note - it can get a little buggy in the evenings if eating outside. Local wineries and restaurants are within a 20 to 30 minute drive, and don't miss out on visiting Lucca.

Our hosts and Invitation to Tuscany representatives were always available and very helpful. I highly recommend a stay at Villa Fobbia.

“ An Italian Gem! ”

This is our first stay here. Having stayed in the area previously, we were taken aback by the panoramic views from the terrace. The accommodation is superb! It is very comfortable and well equipped. Our hosts were charming and helpful, especially about the restaurant recommendations in the local towns. All of which we found to be very charming. The lasagne from the local butchers in Piazze is a must!!

“ Ideal accommodation and facilities for a large family group of mixed ages ”

We all enjoyed our stay at Docciole immensely, There were activities for all of us to participate in and it was a delight to share in evening meals outside. It was also well equipped for people to do their own thing occasionally if they so wished. We had a BBQ one evening helped by Luciano .Anna was always there to advise us and recommend cafes etc We began to feel part of the family by the end of the week.
